Luxury Suites in Worcestershire — Rooms Fit for Royalty
There are hotels. And then there are rooms with a story. The Wood Norton's three luxury suites are named after the very royalty who once slept within their walls French princes, princesses, and the Duchesse d'Orléans herself, whose family built this extraordinary hunting lodge in the heart of Worcestershire in the 19th century.
Each suite is a world unto itself: original oak panelling and hand-carved fireplaces, roll-top baths and marble bathrooms, breathtaking views across the Vale of Evesham and the Worcestershire countryside. Whether you choose the grandeur of the Princess Louise Suite, the historic intimacy of the Duc D'Orléans Suite, or the serene elegance of the Balcony Suite, you will sleep somewhere truly unlike anywhere else.

Princess Louise Suite
The crown jewel of The Wood Norton and one of the most spectacular hotel suites in Worcestershire. Named in honour of Princess Louise Françoise Marie Laure of Orléans, the sister of the Duc d'Orléans and youngest daughter of Philippe d'Orléans, Count of Paris, , this magnificent master suite spans three beautifully appointed rooms: a grand sitting room, a regal bedroom, and a luxurious bathroom that demands you linger.
From the balcony window, take in what is considered one of the finest views of any hotel room in Worcestershire and take in what may be the finest view of any hotel room in Worcestershire sweeping, uninterrupted vistas across the Vale of Evesham, reaching towards the hills of the Cotswolds. Inside, original fireplaces crackle beneath intricately carved wood panelling. Ornate French furnishings fill every corner, a direct legacy of the Duc d'Orléans and his court, who brought the finest craftsmen from France to build and furnish this extraordinary lodge.
The Princess Louise Suite is perfect for a once-in-a-lifetime stay, a milestone birthday, a landmark anniversary, or simply those rare moments when only the very best will do.
Duc D'Orleans Suite
This is the room where history lives. The Duc D'Orléans Suite was the private bedroom of Louis Philippe Robert d'Orléans, also known as Philippe VIII, the Orléanist pretender to the French throne, who owned and lived at The Wood Norton with his wife, Princess Marie-Dorothée of Austria.
The suite spans three rooms: a separate sitting lounge where the Duc himself once read, received guests, and looked out over the Worcestershire countryside; a bedroom adorned with the original wood-panelled walls and period details that have stood for nearly two centuries; and a luxurious marble bathroom with a deep roll-top bath the perfect place to soak away the day in true French aristocratic style.
To stay in the Duc D'Orléans Suite is to sleep in one of the most historically significant hotel rooms in England, a room that was once the private sanctuary of a French royal prince. There is nowhere quite like it.
Balcony Suite
Named in memory of the Duchesse d'Orléans, the wife of the Duc d'Orléans, Princess Marie-Dorothée of Austria, and a regular presence at The Wood Norton during the family's years in England the Balcony Suite is the most serene and quietly beautiful of the three royal suites.
Where the Princess Louise Suite dazzles and the Duc D'Orléans Suite impresses with history, the Balcony Suite enchants. Its views across the formal gardens and rolling Worcestershire countryside are among the most peaceful you will find in any hotel in the Midlands, a landscape that seems to slow time itself.
The suite features the same original wood-panelled walls and period character that define all three royal suites, alongside a luxurious marble bathroom with a deep roll-top bath. Whether you are celebrating a romantic occasion or simply seeking a retreat from the world, the Balcony Suite delivers complete, unhurried luxury.
