A country manor with a tale to tell

About the Wood Norton

Our storied country manor on the northern edge of the Cotswolds seamlessly combines comfort, luxury and exquisite 19th Century French design. Well known for original oak panelling and fine carved details, the Wood Norton is a true work of art.

Through it’s long and unique history as a mansion house turned BBC broadcasting and training centre, the Wood Norton has lost none of its majesty and charm. We offer fifty immaculate rooms including five spectacular suites, a restaurant, contemporary bar and alfresco dining terrace with one of the best views in Worcestershire.

For business events, our state-of-the-art boardroom and conference centre are popular with companies near and far. Finally, there’s the extensive estate grounds and formal garden which serve as the perfect backdrop for our beautiful wedding venue with space for up to 130 guests.

All the style and heritage of a 19th Century mansion with all the contemporary comforts of home. It’s what makes our guests return to the Wood Norton time and time again.

Our History

Our Grade II country house hotel was once owned by exiled French royalty, the Duc d’Orléans, who made it his family home. Since then, it has been a WW2 emergency broadcasting centre, training centre and filming location for the BBC before finally becoming the stunning hotel it is today.

Sustainability

At The Wood Norton, sustainability isn’t just a trend—it’s a core part of who we are. We’re working hard behind (and in front of) the scenes to reduce our impact on the environment, from our single use plastic-free commitment to our EV charging points.
